Desert Safari

Arya Tours and Travels welcomes you to experience the "Thar Desert Safari". Desert safari in Jaisalmer is considered the best way to explore the "Thar Desert". Jeep or Camel are two ways to explore the desert. You could choose our pre-designed packages or we could organise the Desert Safari in Jaisalmer depending on your desires, the time you have and how adventurous you want your desert experience to be. Camel Safari - The Camel also known as “Ship of the desert” is best way to explore the "Thar Desert". Our specialty is camel back tours through the magnificent and historical Thar desert.
The only Privately-owned sand dune in all of Jaisalmer - our 40-acre sand dune is the perfect destination for you to relax after a camel ride or stay the night. Our camp area is surrounded by thousands of acres of empty desert landscapes, located in the heart of the Thar desert yet is just a 40 minute drive from the city of Jaisalmer. While you will see hundreds of tourists in other popular sand dunes, we will only have our own group with very small number of co-travellers.
With tall and sloppy dunes and natural desert landscape Arya Tours and Travels offers guests a very unique traditional desert experience that is true to the culture and heritage of “Thar Desert".
On our Camel Safari tour you would be able to visit some of the villages along the desert. These villages reflect the heritage culture of "The Golden City" with it's adobe houses, coloured dresses, traditional jewellery and simple people, living with their cattle. Our Camel Safari Captain Mr Musa has hosted guests on camel safari in Jaisalmer for most of his life.
Our passion is to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience. We see each guest as a new friend, and will make you feel right at home.

Tips/What to bring

Camel Safari is a real deal and here are some tips to help you on your journey: riding on camel back can become surprisingly uncomfortable after a while (not just for the camel!), and some people complain of having sore legs and bums by the end of their journey. To avoid this, wear loose cloths and do bring something comfortable and padded to sit on! Other useful items to bring include sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, toilet paper, flashlight, water bottle, long-sleeve shirt, torch, towel, long trousers, sneakers or other type of sturdy shoes, batteries for camera, some warm clothing (as it can get cold in the desert at night) and finally a big smile and a positive attitude. Our goal is to make you as comfortable as possible but to also give you an authentic experience, so if we can help you with any of these provisions please let us know before we embark on our journey. We look forward to travelling with you!
Jeep/Car Safari - We could also organise a Jeep or car desert safari, where you will be visiting some of the villages on the way to desert and then have your sunset dinner or night stay and come back to the town next morning in the same.
